Why a few injections may be all that you need
Although many folks may be visiting plastic surgeons in Miami for facelifts and eyelid surgery, others may be interested in less-invasive options. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Botox treatment was the most popular cosmetic procedure performed last year, with surgeons giving over six million injections.
So why are many Americans looking for nonsurgical options to give their looks a boost? Writing on the ASPS blog, San Diego plastic surgeon, Dr. John Alexander offered the following reasons:
- Flexible options – While Botox is the most popular injection, it is hardly the only one available for those who want to get rid of lines and wrinkles. People like to have a variety of options when it comes to reaching their appearance goals, and a wide selection of treatment possibilities gives them that freedom.
- Lifestyle considerations – Women and men interested in cosmetic procedures tend to have busy lives. Commitments at work and home make setting aside time for recovery from surgery difficult. An injection here or there takes just a few minutes and can be a nice break from a hectic week.
- Offers a safe entry into surgery – It’s understandable that someone wouldn’t want to immediately commit to the permanent results of plastic surgery. Injections and fillers are low-risk and give patients a preview of what they may look like if they have a facelift or similar procedures. It they like what they see, they may choose a more long-term option down the road.
If you’re interested in learning more about improving your looks, you should first contact a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Christopher Craft would be happy to meet with you!
