What swimsuit style should you wear to flatter your figure?
We are in the middle of summer in Miami, and that means many of us are spending more time in our swimsuits than out of them! If you have been feeling less than totally confident at the pool or beach this season, you may have your bikini to blame. Here are the best swimsuit styles depending on body type:
Boyish:
Women’s Health Magazine advises wearing suits with strategically placed ruffles, padding and gathered fabric to enhance your cleavage and derriere.
Chesty:
As much as other women may envy your ample cleavage, it can be hard to find a suit that fits just right! Fitness Magazine has some great advice: Look for a bathing suit top that is made like a bra, with lots of support and structure.
Curvy:
Glamour Magazine recommends sizing up if you have a full figure. Remember, bathing suits often run smaller than ordinary clothing.
“Coverage is key,” 28-year-old Kelly Stitt tells the magazine. “I’m full-figured and a 38DD. I like to show off my shape, but I always buy suits stretchy enough that they don’t dig in.”
Pear-shaped:
Women’s Health suggests choosing swimsuit bottoms that offer plenty of coverage, like full briefs, boy shorts or hipsters. Try to draw the eye up by restricting louder patterns and fun style details to your top half.
Tummy:
Got a little extra padding around your middle? Take Glamour’s advice and invest in one-piece suits with side-ruching. A bikini with high-waisted bottoms can also work wonders!
