“The hand lift” proves popular for newly engaged women
Brides-to-be have a lot to think about, from who to choose as their maid of honor to how to take the perfect selfie of their ring. If you’re on social media, you know just how important the engagement ring picture is, and how many likes it can garner. The rise in ring selfies has made a new cosmetic surgery trend known as “the hand lift” quite popular.
Brides to be who don’t like the way their hands look, whether they believe they are wrinkly or bony, can now opt for a 10-minute procedure that fills in their skin to exude a more youthful vibe. Although it’s a quick procedure, one treatment will run you $1,200 and last for approximately nine months.
“What we’re doing today is basically using a filler called Juvederm and it lasts nine months,” a New York plastic surgeon who performs hand lifts recently told local news station PIX 11. “What we want to achieve is a plump, smooth surface so we don’t see any of those underlining structures.”
Essentially, it works similar to a face lift or Botox injections. Many brides-to-be are willing to go through great lengths to look just the way they’ve always wanted for their wedding day and engagement pictures. Now that women are getting married later in life compared to previous generations, cosmetic procedures are becoming a popular way to look more youthful.
