The exact ratio prescribes 45 percent of breast tissue volume above the nipple and 55 percent below. The nipple itself points upward at a slight, 20-degree angle, creating a profile that Dr. Patrick Malluci describes as a “beckoning breast.” 

Other celebrities who lay claim to the ideal bust: Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox and Kelly Brooks. In contrast, Britney Spears’ breasts have a 50:50 ratio and Kim Kardashian’s have a top-heavy 55:45 proportion. 

Malluci and his team surveyed 1,315 men and women, showing them pictures of various breasts and asking them which ones they preferred. The study was published in the journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. 

Interestingly, the “beckoning breast” shape seems to have been heralded as the ideal for centuries. From some of the earliest statues to Renaissance art, many great works show the 45:55 ratio.
