More men seeking to enhance their looks through cosmetic surgery
More and more men are seeking plastic surgery to improve their looks, regain their youthful appearance and get ahead in life and at work. In fact, according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the number of total procedures performed on male patients grew by more than 106 percent between 1997 and 2012.
According to the ASAPS survey, liposuction is the top procedure among male patients. Discerning men often turn to liposuction to perfect and sculpt parts of the body that are difficult or impossible to target through diet and exercise alone. In sun-drenched Miami, it’s particularly important to feel confident in your body, especially during the hot summer months when spending lots of time at the pool and beach. If you struggle with love handles and/or fatty deposits on your chest and abdomen, liposuction might be right for you.
The other four most popular operations among male patients were rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast reduction and ear shaping. According to a recent report from Details Magazine, many aging men are also now turning to surgical procedures to tighten the skin around the neck, defining the chin and jaw for a younger, more masculine appearance.
“If you work hard and play hard, it’s impossible to keep your neck as tight as you want,” a male plastic surgery patient told Details. “I was already […] working out four days a week, but nothing was happening there, so I figured why not?”
If you’re a man considering plastic surgery, schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon like Christopher Craft, MD. As one of the best plastic surgeons in Florida, Dr. Craft has years of experience helping Miami men achieve their aesthetic goals.
