A difficult job hunt drives more male Baby Boomers to Botox
It’s no secret that male plastic surgery is on the rise, but it seems that one segment of this population is more eager than ever to go under the knife. According to The Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch, men in their 50s and up have been heading to plastic surgeons in larger numbers to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that may make them seem tired or out-of-touch.
What is driving this demand for Botox and other procedures? An increasingly competitive job market. Unemployment rates may be relatively low among older men, but the news outlet notes that Baby Boomers who find themselves out of a job often have more difficulty obtaining a new position. As a result, some men have turned to Miami plastic surgeons to achieve a more youthful and energetic look.
Surprisingly, though, there may actually be a benefit to this increased pressure for men to look their best in the office.
“Some doctors say workplace concerns have been particularly influential in driving male patients to get past the stigma some men attach to cosmetic procedures,” the source states.
When seen in this light, the persistent (if unconscious) influence of appearance on hiring decisions could actually be freeing more men to invest in the male plastic surgery they have long been considering, but never had the nerve to pursue.
If you are interested in a nip and tuck, whether it’s a bit of Botox or a full face lift, you need a Miami plastic surgeon who will treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve. Dr. Christopher Craft is a board-certified plastic surgeon who values discretion and will put your safety and satisfaction above all else.
