4 no-cook, healthy summer dinners to help you lose weight
Summer is not a season when you want to spend a lot of time in a hot kitchen, nor is it a period when you can afford to gain weight. After all, we live in Florida! Much or our time is spent at the pool or on the beach in a bathing suit. Here are some no-cook, healthy dinner ideas that will keep you thin and trim:
- Asian noodles: Throw cellophane noodles in a bowl of hot water, drain them and they’re ready to eat. Try this delicious recipe from Cooking Light, which uses rice vinegar, lime juice, chile paste, cilantro and mint to add lots of flavor without a lot of calories.
- Salads: Summer salads are easy to throw together and will help you lose weight. Simply toss some leafy greens with a low-calorie dressing and add some dried fruit, fresh vegetables and nuts. Et voila! Dinner is served.
- Tacos: Shred some rotisserie chicken from your favorite grocery store and serve with corn tortillas, fresh vegetables and salsa.
- Tapas: Real Simple magazine suggests making an easy tapas plate out of marinated chickpeas, olives, cheese and prosciutto. Add some mixed greens to make the meal more filling.
