A fit and fabulous Kelly Ripa turns 44
Talk show host Kelly Ripa celebrated her 44th birthday on October 2, so just how does the mom of three manage to keep her amazing body looking 10 years younger?
Ripa is a big fan of working out, reportedly running and taking cardio ballet, power yoga and Soul Cycle classes. Her trainer, Anna Kaiser, recently told Shape magazine that Ripa works out four to five times a week for 90 minutes each session. The two try to focus on improving her cardio fitness, strength and flexibility, using varying combinations of exercises.
As for Ripa’s diet, she says that she tries to eat healthily but isn’t above the occasional caloric splurge.
“I’m not militant about anything,” she tells Good Housekeeping. “If there’s cheesecake in the house, I’ll have some. If I’m in the mood for something, I’ll have it. I don’t obsess about anything. I could have three or four ‘cheat days’ in a week and then not have dessert for another three months.”
So how can you, like Ripa, have your cheesecake and eat it too? The answer, of course is working out, eating healthily with the occasional splurge and taking care of your body.
