How should John Kerry deflect the plastic surgery rumors?
Plastic surgery has gotten more popular than ever, as a growing number of celebs are opting to speak openly of their nips and tucks. However, there are still many high-profile figures who balk at the speculation about their cosmetic enhancements. The subjects of these rumors tend to be older female faces or reality TV stars. With that in mind, the latest A-lister to denounce such gossip is definitely the odd man out.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has appeared on television and in newspapers quite frequently these days, which has led many to speculate that something about his visage seems a bit, well, different. The Boston Herald, among other publications, has suggested that the former Massachusetts senator may have undergone a few dermal filler treatments or a bit of Botox to combat signs of stress and aging.
An official spokesman for Kerry has responded to the speculation directly, calling the rumors false and stating “No. End of story. That’s not a denial, that’s a fact.”
But, as New York Magazine aptly notes, “Fact though it may be, the media’s treatment of aging female celebrities suggests it is never the end of the story.”
Since Kerry may not be familiar with the strategies older women have used to squash such rumors over the years, the media outlet has compiled a list of the most common cover-ups over the years, including hormonal changes, illness, weight loss and crafty photography.
The piece certainly makes for enlightening and amusing reading, but should anyone who actually has gone under the knife have to resort to such methods? We think not. If you are interested in plastic surgery, don’t let this speculation keep you from contacting plastic surgeons in Miami. Dr. Christopher Craft is a board-certified plastic surgeon who can help you obtain striking yet natural results.
